Hi all,
here is my new mini No-Cal, a Dornier Falke. It's scaled down to 62% from the standard 16" size. Plan is by Dave Linstrum, published in Model Aviation.
Made from 1x1 mm balsa, it is light enough, but also sturdy enough for me. It flies nicely with a single strand, not a loop, of 1/16" rubber. I have some 1 mm rubber, that I plan to use, so the next No-Cal will be around 70%. Maybe that will fit.
Wingspan: 245 mm / 10"
Weight: 2.4 g without rubber
Cheers,
Alex
Hi Alex, nice and light...
Why do you go smaller in size? The hall is suitable enough, actually looks great.
Or are there other limitations like room etc?
How long is the rubber loop? It looks like it could take a longer one for more turns.
Thanks George, yes the gym is perfectly suitable for full size No-Cals, I tested that with two already. The thing is the storage room at home gets limited and a smaller, like peanut or so, fits better ;)
Or maybe I'll try to make the wing detachable. That should be possible with only little weight disadvantage.
Cheers
Alex
