Title: How to upload plans in the Plans Gallery
Post by: g_kandylakis on Feb 27, 2026, 11:51 AM
Her is a sort-of tutorial for those wishing to upload material to the Plans Gallery.

First of all, you have to be registered in the Gallery as well. It is a separate registration than that of the forum.

You do not have to be a member of the forum in order to register to the Plans Gallery, it is advisable however.

If you have something to upload, the first question is if it is suitable for uploading. There should be no copyright issues.

Also, if downloaded from the other known plan sites such as outerzone or Aerofred etc. there really is no need to replicate it here. Exception are files that were already in the initial Plans Gallery, regardless if they were also somewhere else.

The best format for uploading is .PDF. It is also possible to upload .JPG and .ZIP files (others too, the allowable extensions are shown in brackets).

To upload, first you chose the category or subcategory the plan belongs to.

When you are in this category you click on the top right corner "upload" button

First you need to choose the file for uploading.

You clock on the gray rectangle. On my screen which is set up for greek, it says "Navigation", not sure what appears on others.

Do not choose the URL rectangle.

By clicking on the gray rectangle you navigate in your computer and find the file you want to upload.

Next is the thumbnail file.
Similarily, click "Navigation" and chose the file.

The file should have a width of approx 212 pixels, to display as a small preview of the actual plan.

Please, do include a thumbnail image.

next comes the name of the plan, as it will appear in the Plans Gallery. This does not have to be the same as the filename itself.

In the description box you can add any relevant information about the plan, such as type, size, designer etc.

Next come some keywords to make future searching easier.

Again, type, designer, manufacturer etc, all separated by commas.

Last, the verification code, which might be troyblesome if you cannot read them clearly and write an incorrect answer.

And that is it.

Hope it helps...

George

Thanks for the detailed explanation and time George.

I'll try again but that's basically the method I used, so I must have missed something.

Evening,

Is there a queue waiting to be processed or has my last upload gone astray?

I had a computer freeze while uploading Dec 1956 and didn't get a success message for that attempt so I uploaded it a second time.

I see that you approved both of them, George.

Could you please remove one of them?

Many thanks and sorry for the confusion

My first uploads went without issue....except those dreaded verification codes are pretty tough on this old blokes eyes.

Great to see the Aeromodellers coming back.
