Ok very late notice and I apologise for that but tomorrow there is a Lodge Farm FF Scale event. FF Fun flyers, future FF Scale modellers , interested parties welcome.
Flying from 10.00 with an FF3 Rubber Precision contest from 12.00 for an hour. Lunch and then an FF2 Scale Free Flight contest from about 2.00.
Certificates for the contest with a trophy and a bottle of wine for the highest scoring Aeromodeller and Model Flyer design.
As usual £5.00 to fly and £5.00 to enter one or both contests.
Brush the cobwebs off your models and it's fingers crossed for a good day out.
Guidelines and map attached.
We were blessed with near perfect conditions yesterday for the first Lodge Farm in over a year. Last year's dates were all blown out so it was good to get back there.
This year the electric fence has been moved and the sheep confined to other half of the large field leaving the top half a field of 'Keil Kraft' grass, ideal for trimming as well as the comps
The morning saw a rubber precision event while the afternoon we had a Flying Only flown in 4 very enjoyable rounds. There were also plenty of time for trimming to , Mike tried his new Parnell Elf while I finally after a year maidened my Grahame-White Bantam which was hugely satisfying. I do a more more detailed bit in the Bantam thread later but surfice to say I had circling nicely by the end (albeit a bit tight)
The Rubber precision was won by Charlie Jeffries with Pete fardell second and Mike Smith Third. The flying only looked very close with all the models flying very well indeed, I pity Phil Smith's job as judge to split them but in the end he did with Pete Fardell's Stinson Sentinel ahead of Mike Smith's Tiger Moth and my DH60. Charlie Jeffreys was fourth with his Rumpler Taube and Pete's Bleriot 5th
Some pics -
That's a lot of 'Keil Kraft' grass
Pete's Bleriot and my Grahame-White Bantam
Mike Smith's new Parnell Elf looks very nice, another well detailed model

My Piper Clipper. Last time out it snapped the prop, unfortunately this one is very different so needs retrimming
Dastardly and Muttley in the long grass
Not sure if this Phil's or Mikes ???

There's a video here now with some trimming and the Flying Only rounds. On the end is Charlie Jeffreys' ex Vic Smeed 'Eye in the Sky'I think it's called for single channel RC
Thanks again for reporting on this event Chris and also for combing with Pete for an excellent video! Closest thing to being there. I've never seen so much grass :o
Thanks Chris - it proves that KeilKraft grass exists :)
