I've also built this kit and it has become a favourite model of mine, still going strong after 10 years of flying. The wood in my kit was quite bad and I had to replace half of it (extremely heavy and dense balsa), but this seems to have varied a lot over the production run, a friend has the same kit with perfectly acceptable wood selection.
At first I had some difficulty trimming it - it didn't really want to turn, and if forcing it with the rudder it spiraled in. Some washout solved that and now it's a good outdoor flier, though I've never dared to try it indoors!
If you are interested in scale fidelity, note that the shape of the rudder is wrong and that the registration letters were (most probably) black, not red.
The subject of the kit, G-EBRO, has an interesting background story. It was first used by Westland as a demonstrator, touring Europe to attract customers. Later a cabin was added over the cockpits. Finally, the cabin was removed and the plane modified to Widgegon IIIa standard, with a different landing gear and engine cover.

Here's a photo of the plane being used as my original - it happens to be the oldest continuously registered civil aeroplane in Australia, and is currently undergoing restoration. This photos is from about 1970.
A striking colour scheme, and nice to see a Widgeon not registered G-EBRO for a change :)

..or that the bird is a widgeon not an owl (uhu is german for owl, I believe)
