Free Flight event at the 2026 Scale World Championship

I was at the '78 World Champs as a spectator. Not having any money, I hitch hiked to Woodvale with a friend. That's me on the left.
I came for the C/L world champs and was happy to see the Metkemeyer brothers win F2C team race. The picture however shows Hans Visser of the Visser / Buijs team with two other pilots in a race.
The most beautifull model in my opinion was Al Rabe's semi scale Mustang stunter.
I did wander over to the scale event where I took two pictures of a beautifull Curtiss F-6 Hawk. I even saw Richard Falconer fly his P-38 Lightning in the evening. sorry, no picture!
