I found a kit at a Scale Modelers Show.  A Sterling peanut scale Corsair and Zero for $15.  Seemed like a good deal as the kit is complete. I've never built a peanut scale so I'm hoping I can handle all the small parts.  They also had a Guillow's Neuport II 24" span for $35. It is the die cut version.  The current laser cut one is $111.  Not sure I am up for a biplane but it seems like a good deal and I may be able to get it for less. Anyone built or familiar with the Guillow Neuport II.

One Cut

How is the wood in the Sterling kits?  I have two of the Corsair/Zero and the print wood is terrible in each one.
Few years back, I built the Nieuport lazer cut kit and really enjoyed the build.  If your wood is good it should build into a nice model.

Ped,
I've built all the Guillow 200 series with the exception of the Thomas Morse Scout. The ones I build were all die-cut on semi heavy wood. Not ideal for rubber powered flight but great if one was going to convert to Gas Free flight of control line. With some workings, they could be converted to RC as there are many threads on the RC Universe. The last Guillow Nieuport 11 I built was probably around 1969.

The build was simple to my knowledge and nothing really out of the norm. Good sized kits for the time as runner up to neck and neck with kits from Sterling. I wouldn't mind doing a revisit build some day.

Thanks for the input.  The wood on the Sterling looks okay.  I may scan the wood parts and get my Cricut to cut them out. It cuts much better than I do. So I can replace the wood if necessary. I pulled the trigger on the Neuport. The wood seems okay. I'll do what I can to lighten it as I'd rather stay rubber powered if I can.
