I was reading through the Clarion articles by Nick Peppiat recently posted by GK and spotted the original website address, so I thought I'd see if it was still available. It is! (Sadly the paper mentioned by Nick in the Clarion, "Fritz Mueller, CO2 A guide to Success", is not still present. I haven't made a wider search for that yet but I thought it looked interesting.)

www.gasparin.cz will find a live site where the section headings still take you to live pages including a lot of information on Gasparin motors. Some of this has been added to hpa, but there's more than can be posted here unfortunately.

There is a list of motors at http://www.gasparin.cz/page.php?page=co2/products/gmotors/gmotors&lng=en#large which is largely summarised in the list I posted in the 'CO2 motors - motors list' topic. However the intersting thing is each motor in the list is itself a hyperlink to more detailed information about that motor. How about a CAD video of the insides of the V12 working?

Generally there is a power-duration graph and cut-away GA drawing. The GA will expand and saves to a 30kb file. These have basic dimensions so, pretty useful actually. I can see myself making a library of those. (Would that make an interesting thread for people to view?)

The 'Links' list is like a blast from the past - microinvent, Bob Selman, Graham Stabler, falconmodels, Leicester AeroNutz and many more.

Hi Nigel,

The Gasparin site is indeed up, I imagine being supported by Stefan Gasparin's son, Michal.

But it is hardly "active".

The only source for Gasparin CO2 motors is Jiri Linka, at
http://www.old-engine-model.com/en/k266.gasparin-co2-motory/

Having goten that out of the way (for other members which might not be familiar), yes by all means. Whatever you can save and post here is most welcome. No one knows when it becaomes necessary to search for such things, better have them archived...

Yes, apologies, I hadn't realised it was also still possible to follow the 'How to Order' links - I don't wnow what will happen to your money if you do so!

I had second thoughts about posting the images here. I was under the probably false impression that wesites simply 'hang around' when no longer in regular use. I guess nowadays (or always?) commercial practice is for the host to take the site down quickly if the content owner ceases paying for its upkeep. On that basis, given the site is live albeit commercially dormant, someone must still be supporting it and I don't want to infringe copyrights so maybe it will be better to only keep a copy for personal use until such time as it isn't available. Unless permision could be sought from the content owner; not something I can do though.

Hmmm. I had a third thought... if these data and the diagrams are the same as the paperwork sent out with motors, they could reasonably be considered to be in the public domain? So, should be ok to reproduce on a non-commercial site? Any thoughts? Jeremy JMK?

Hi Nigel,

I wanted to write earlier but then thought I 'd contact Michal Gasparin first, to ask for permission. Just to be perfectly ok. I have not succeeded in that yet.

Personally I do not see a problem with a copyright. These are informative data on products available, some even now.

The source is known and will be clearly mentioned. They are reference material, not something that would be subject to some type of copyright.

The risk of the Gasparin site eventually going down is greater and it would be a pity if they are lost.

So, my suggestion is to go ahead and post them. At some time I will manage to get an answer. If positive, we keep them, if not (doubtful) we delete them.

Knowing Michal Gasparin and his pride on his father's work, I see no reason he would object.

George's approach is the one I'd take. I think there is copyright in the material, but it is unlikely that the copyright owner would object.

If the material is posted and Michael Gasparin does object, then the material can be taken down.  I couldn't see any damages arising since the posting here won't have made us money or lost Michael any revenue, so the only remedy he will have is for us to stop publishing, and in that case, I'm pretty sure George would respect that request
All the best
