Nice pilot but it's the mist of castor oil that will finish him off.

Wow that's quite a drop, nice one. (Smug mode justified)  ;D

Success!! (more or less)  8)

As you can see from the attached, the Scout does indeed commit aviation - but I must somehow improve my launches as most of them were daisy-cutters until it got into its stride. But it flies in a fairly convincing manner, which is quite gratifying.

It seems to want to pitch the nose up every time it heads into wind, and the glide is a bit too steep, which suggests to me that the c.g. is possibly a little too far forwards. Also, the circle under power is a little too tight and it's banked a bit too much, even with the maximum amount of right rudder that I dare give it, so I think it needs yet another thrust plate.

Steps will be taken...  :)

What it needs now is for someone (no names, no pack drill) to unearth some vintage footage of the real one flying in 1916. Best wait till after I've done the fuselage lettering though.

Beautiful shots Andy - it looks like it has a lot of potential.

Nothing beats a view of a biplane in a blue sky (oh, maybe only a triplane:-).
Masterpiece!

Well done.  The best part is the sun shinning through the Coverung and showing the top Randalls
