MYSTERY MAN CONVERSION TO HIGH START TOWLINE  VINTAGE GLIDER

Mon Jan26 2026

1938  PLAN  37 INCH WINGSPAN

This was my free flight, conversion of the Mystery Man laser cut kit,  into a Vintage Glider,  which has no Radio Control,  but ... it does have a rubber powered bungee launch towline.

Not a prebuilt Almost Ready to Fly ARF,   nor a pre-built Ready To Fly RTF.    There is no plastic and no foam,  but it has full balsa wood construction and tissue covering,  along with a few "hardened" wooden parts.   It has a built-up fuselage framework,  and gull wings,  and rib undercamber.

This was a very long,  and detailed,  fun build thread,   lost to the ethos, also.    It is way too long to re-post,  so I will just post some picture highlights in no specific order.     My flight reports did not turn out well,  though  ...  actually,  a complete failure ....    But,  if you like building and flying vintage balsa model gliders,  this is a good one to try to convert into a glider.
