Fairchild Ranger

I've mislaid my copy of Model Aircraft magazine wherein is a plan for the Fairchild by Eric Fearnley. It was about 1963, with a cutout diagram of the model on the cover. If anyone has a copy of the plan, I'd be grateful for a copy.

Bill, I've got a copy of the August 1963 Model Aircraft. There is a cutout drawing of a model on the front cover and a full sze plan inside. However, the model is of a Fairchild Rancher by Colin Read, not Eric Fearnley. If this is the model you were thinking of, and you can't get hold of a copy locally, I would be happy to send you mine Mike Thomas

Thanks for the rapid response! Yes of course it's Read, not Fearnley.
Unlike the old HPA, I can't tell where you are based but given that all your posts are in the middle of UK night time, I'll assume it's the southern hemisphere!? Let me wait a few days to see if anything turns up more locally, and I'll get back to you.

I have got some plans scanned at Officeworks. You need to take a storage device (usb stick typically) with you to take the scan with you. Then you could upload the plan to the Pkans Gallery and Bill could get it that way, as could others.

Yes, Jeremy we could do that. Let's see what Bill wants first. If his prefererence is for me to send him the magazine, I shall do that. I can get it scanned at Officeworks prior to posting the magazine to Bill, and it can still be uploaded to the plan gallery. Mike.

Mike, I don't know if the pm I just wrote got sent, or disappeared in a puff of smoke when I pressed something or other.
Anyway the plan just arrived, for which I am very grateful, so thank you very much. Hopefully I can reciprocate some day!

Forgive my ignorance, but googling suggests that the Fairchild Ranger is a Fairchild 24 with Ranger engine. Is that right?

More confusion. Mike Thomas sent me the plan by Colin Read to replace the one I have lost. I always thought that it was called a Fairchild Ranger but no - it says Rancher. What's a Rancher? No such thing, apparently but it's a typo dating a long way back to a Berkeley kit in the 1940s that has been embedded in some people's memories, if they're still alive. The Ranger refers to the inline engine.
So, for anyone still awake, perhaps it's best to refer to it as the Fairchild 24!
