I seem to have accumulated a number of new models that need trimming. This one is about two years old but I only just got around to trying it out tonight. It's the Aeromodeller  Fokker EIV (sic) by Cyril Edwards. This was my second diesel scale model when I was 11. Over the last 65 years I can clearly remember quite a few flights and in this case I can see it performing consecutive loops over Wymeswold airfield. This was before I knew about fitting propellors back to front, or it may have been a result of building it in 5 days.
This one took me a couple of weeks and is a very simple model - no detail; just a lightweight chuckabout that flies well. As for the name, it's described as an EIV but it isn't; it lacks the wide cowling and top decking to accommodate a twin row Oberursel. I described it thus in my Aeromodeller column but the then editor Geoff Clarke corrected me, in spite of my getting the full info from Cyril himself. I wonder what happened to Geoff Clarke.
