This is a CAD version of the original Baby R.O.G. from a 1927 issue of American Boy magazine. The original plan published in American Boy was not drawn to full scale.
I've built two of these models and they both fly quite well. I substituted 1/32" square basswood for the 1/32" square bamboo called out on the original drawing.
Instead of carving a balsa propeller from the balsa block shown on the drawing, I made a laminated "fan" propeller from 8 layers of 1/16" by 1/4" by 5" balsa sticks. |
