This kit was one of six 20" span dime scale models released by Comet Models in 1940.
To keep costs down, Comet Models used 1/16" square balsa sticks, one sheet of 1/16" thick printed balsa, a sawed balsa prop, tissue paper, and an 11" by 17" plan printed on newspaper.
Volare Products makes a laser cut short kit of this model with a few modifications. Some builders of this model report that the horizontal stabilizer is a bit too small and have had to make a slightly larger one to achieve stable flight. |
