Pete Fardell

I've just emailed out an update with information for all free-flight scale flyers who've entered the Free Flight Scale Indoor Nationals at Walsall on Sunday 26th April. If you have entered this competition but HAVEN'T received my email, please let me know (but check your spam folder first!)

TheLurker

If I have understood things correctly it seems that, technology deities permitting, both days of the event are to be streamed on-line.

Hoping that Paul R. or Pete F. will be able to supply details.  Or correct my misapprehension.

According to the latest newletter, it should be available on:

https://scale.bmfa.org/

TheLurker

Paul thinks probably on the BMFA's youtube channel, link below, but that's to be confirmed.

You going to be in beautiful Walsall Σπιρο?

Spiros

Unfortunatelly not.

Business issues kept me in office.

But next year I will schedule it.

For sure, next contest is IIFI 2026. This has already been scheduled in my calendar!

Will check YouTube BMFA. Many thanks for the tip!!

Yes a good day indeed.

Anyone know what the full results were?  They seem to be kept a secret on the day for some reason!?  They used to get posted on the door on the way out at one time...
Rome wasn't built in a day.  But then again I wasn't on that particular job.

Yep great event, I had a great day too. Very enjoyable just wish I had entered more classes ....and some them not co2  ;D

I have loads of pics and video too which be tomorrow now , to coin an old phrase - I'm cream crackered

Squirrelnet

Ok so some pictures from me from yesterday.

It was a hugely enjoyable day run very well by the organisers and ran pretty much to schedule despite the large numbers. CD Pete Fardell did a great job not only organising the event but entering 4 classes as well making for a crowded table

Here is Pete's lovely Short Monoplane

His Bleriot did some very nice flghts in pen rubber

Crompton preps his Cessna Bird dog

Squirrelnet

The judges had quite a task to get through all the models

Richard Crossley's Grumman Duck comes under scrutiny

Phil Smith and Doug Hunt examine by Sopwith Camel

Matts Johansson's Stampe awaits the judges

Gordon hanna and Ron Johnson took care of the huge Kit Scale Class

Derek Knight brought along his wonderful Tiger Moth , veteran of both Indoor and Outdoor flying. It's a fine flyer but didn't want to play today

George Kandylakis had a range of spectacularly detailed models. This is his Avro 504 which flew beautifully in Open Electric. The 3rd flight was magical

Squirrelnet

Cockpit detail on the Avro

This is George's new DH60G which George had flying well in both peanut and open rubber

George also brought along the Bat Boat though it didn't fly in the event. It is stunning to see close up and in the flesh so to speak

Squirrelnet

Even the structure under the 'bonnet' is beautifully done with it's wonderful boat construction

The Stampe by Matts Johansson was also beautifully executed and flew beautifully too

Mike did well with his Blackburn Shark with 3rd in Intermediate ( I think) No results out yet so relying on memory
