Richard Crssley's Grumman Duck is magnificent and flew its way to very deserved first in Open Electric

Also in Open Electric was Graham Banham's Ensign which was rock solid in the air, very impressive

Graham also had his new Chilton which was going very well too

Paul Hoey's Tiger Moth was mighty too in Kit Scale, electric powered which don't see very often in kit scale

Squirrelnet

A nice Hurricane for kit scale from Tony Rushby ( I think)

Not sure who's this is ...Steve Haines??

This is Steve's No Cal and Nesmith Cougar

I think this the Fardell Comper Swift but not sure which class it was in wether it flew ...kit scale ??

Squirrelnet

I entered my CO2 Sopwith Camel on the basis that is was better to enter something than just spectate and a test flight at the last Trinity had it going well so I put in back in the box and sent the forms off.

Quite what happened in the box I don't know as on the day it would not play ball and even a hand launch ended in disaster but as flight judge Gareth Tilston so concisely put it "Oh it's the Box's fault now is it !!!"  :o

Still it didn't really dampen my day and no doubt next time it comes out away form Walsall it be flying nicely :-\

Nick Peppiatt had a much better day's flying taking a couple of podiums

This is his Nesmith Cougar and Ganegobi

A lovely 14 Bis in Pistachio. It flew very well though looked a bit temperamental

Squirrelnet

This is Nick Peppitt's lovely tailess Pistachio model

John Valient had a lovely collection of foam models flying well

A very nice Bearcat

Tim Horne winds his pistachio model

Squirrelnet

The lunchtime Glider class proved very popular with 11 entries. There were three rounds - duration , spot landing and a mass launch to finish all done from the balcony

Final event of the day was the air race

Lurk entered with nickel scale Howard DGA ... an optimistic choice with myself as pit crew.

You can see how small it is next to the winder.

Refuelling is tricky with such a small model but we managed a few of flights with result of the grand total of er.. 1 lap before the motor jumped off the prop hook and hid it's self at the end of the fuselage, possibly in embarrassment at flying with larger faster models

Wow! what a neat selection of models. Thanks for posting Chris.

Thanks Dave

There's a 30 min video now of the event... more of a 'slow tv' impression of the event than a blow by blow video of the flights

Right, you've have the good stuff, now a few stills from me. There's also some Super 8 from the Kinematography club too which I'll be sending to Squirrelnet Labs later on this evening.

1 - And Dave is modelling this year's "must have" T-shirt without which no aeromodeller's wardrobe will be complete.  You meet a nicer class of person at aeromodelling meetings.

2-4  You know what this is and I make absolutely no apology for duplicating Chris' posting of it.

1 - Peter Brown's Andreasson
2 - Steve Haines' Bucker
3, 4 Pete Fardell's Short's S42.  It only just missed making a qualifying flight, but it'll definitely be ready for the IIFI in November.

1 - Pete Fardell's Bleriot.  Flew beautifully.
2,3 Henk de Jong's Puss Moth (I think)
4 - You know what this is. :)  It flew! And it didn't get broken!  Result!

1,2 Richard Crossley's Golden Age P-51B (or mebbe C - no-one's quite sure) for KS.  Win a prize?  Of course it won a prize, it'd be crime if it hadn't.

3 Martin Pike's Cessna 140 from the Keil Kraft plan

4 Tonda Alfery's Corsair.  I don't know how this did.

Some more views of Tonda's artworks. The Corsair again and his Pistachio Isaac's Fury.

1 - Tonda's entry for the lunchtime party game.  A Zlin; the fuselage revealing its Grunau Baby ancestry.  There were a lot (4 or maybe 5) of the entries that had GB genes.

2 - A P-51D  from one of the lads* from the Nederlands.  If you know who it was please let me know.

3 - A Grumman.  Ben Palliser's Bearcat?

*He's at least half my age, definitely a lad. :)

John Valiant's table.

He did tell me the names of his models, but I'm sorry John, I've forgotten.

The Kate (?) was this year's entry.
