It's wonderful to see that the HPA community is gradually coming back together on this new website. Kudos to our new website administrator in Greece.

I have posted several times on this new website to begin the process of re-building content for our community. Many of the users of the new HPA website are outside the US but some are domiciled in the US. In the US the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) provides the major driving force and administrative arm for people who pursue model aircraft including both radio control and free flight model aircraft.

A wonderful exhibit showcasing the history of the P-30 event was recently added to the AMA Museum in Muncie, Indiana. This is a medium size city in the middle of the US not far from Chicago. The AMA has a 1,000 acre site that can support outdoor free flight activities, in addition to providing a site for the AMA museum.

The P-30 event was developed by the San Diego Orbiteers free flight club in the US in the late 1970's and is popular world-wide. I wish to extend my gratitude to my good friend and fellow flier, Don Bartick, for the many hours he spent gathering and restoring a collection of famous P-30 models, props, DTs, etc. for this exhibit. He also built and contributed one model embodying is own very successful P-30 design, namely, the High Tail P-30.
