After flying my Chambermaid Nocal for at least 15 years, I have finally built a new model. Art Chester's "Goon" racer. In lots of ways it's very similar to the Chambermaid. It's heavy for a Nocal at 9.1g without rubber but still lighter than the Chambermaid which is 11.4. These style racers make very large Nocal models with a lot of wing area so that's not too bad. Given decent air the CM could do 2 minutes so I am hoping for a bit better from the Goon.

Very neat.   Good luck with the trimming.

Looks great. The front prop hanger caught my eye - easily adjustable in pitch and yaw.

Good luck with it.

Excellent, I like it!
Two minutes is quite long, right? I hope to break the one minute barrier soon :D

Are you using 1/16" rubber?

Cheers

Thanks for the comments gents.
Alex, 2 minutes is good for me but in the competitions I fly in such as at the IIFI in Nijmegen, the winning times are closer to 3 minutes. My Chambermaid flys on a loop of 1/8th rubber. I will try the Goon on 3/32nd to start with as its a bit lighter but it might still need 1/8th.
