Went to the annual ProWing meet last weekend (one of the biggest rc flight/sales shows in Europe) with absolutely NO intention of purchasing anything (especially airplanes) other than a few small goodies to replace worn out parts.  I DID manage the part about not BUYING a kit, but one of the exhibitors, whom I've know and dealt with for decades, is also a"retired" FF nut and over the last couple of years has had a few of his unbuilt FF kits along with his companies goods, simply to thin out his collection.

This year, he had the Guillow's B-17 and a  Peck PNut MUSTANG that he had brought back from a trip the the US some 50 years ago all in original sealed boxes.  I would have loved to take the B-17, but he def wanted too much for what I was able to lay out or afford.  The 'Stang was within the current price range for the EU market, but wasn't my primary interest.  After gabbing for a good while, he just handed me the 'Stang and said "enjoy" (viel Spass).

Not sure when I'll start building it ::)

I might still be able to get the -17 cause he asked what I could offer (I got my Ju-87 from him at a fraction of what was on the price tag

Hey,
thats a nice catch!
I'm looking for a longer time for a plan copy of the PP Mustang.
So if you ever open the box maybe we find an opportinity to copy or scan the plan?
This model is a favorite I'd like to build soon.
I'd be willing to travel some distance to finally get this plan in my hands.
You are from Germany?
I'm living near Saarbrücken, 66625.
Kind regards,
Christian

Greets Christian!

I just checked the "Wind-it-up" site (Nachfolger von Peck) to see if the Mustang was in the inventory - which it isn't.  The owner has all the rights to the Peck line so I can't upload the plan anywhere, but send me a PM with your email address and I'll try to scan it to pdf (I have an A3 scanner) in the next couple of days.

I do hope the typo in the thread title is deliberate.  Made me smile.

Wasn't deliberate ::).  I noticed it about an hour after posting when answering CF-EKM's message. I figured 'the heck with it' to see who would be the first to notice ;D .

Peck kits were definitely special - even more so now!

There are 5 Peck P-51 kits on eBay at the moment, ranging from $15 to $200(!). All in the USA, though.

Garry

Hi

If anyone is looking for Peck kits & pw (microx) send a pm and e-mail.

Hi Pit. The P-51 was a tough master for me I built several before I got one to fly. Once I figged out the dihedral and the down thrust, I find I can apply the lessons to all my low wingers more or less. I built a Herr P-51 that shook like a vibrator then cartwheeled all over the place like a gymnast. I could go on but you know you have heard it all before.
Good luck the P-51 is a sweet spot for me but the saying "when the student is ready thy master shall appear" applies here.
