Ladies, Gentlemen,

No, no, no.  Think C12 rather than flowers and wine.  I don't know, some people.

I have in my hot little hands a Peck Peanut A6M kit given to me by my grate fiend Peason Blackburn Ma. about a fortnight ago.  I finally got around to opening it up today and, well, it seems to be much older than I expected; possibly 50 years old.

Item
- Print wood.
- Plan slightly foxed as the second-hand booksellers would have it.
- The Lacey M-10 doesn't appear in the "all our" kits list on the box or enclosed flyer/order blank.
- The enclosed flyer has two dates on it. Oct '75, Mar. '76
- The kits are all priced at $3.29-$3.49
- A dig at the "Energy Crunch" on the back of the box which I take to refer to the '74 oil crisis.
- La Mesa Calif address.

From the order sheet the kit can't be any older than Mar '76, but the reference to the "Energy Crunch" makes me think it can't be much younger than that either.  As I remember it; it'd pretty much stopped being a talking point by '78 or maybe even '77 in the UK.  I was wondering if anyone could give me a, "can't be any younger than" date.  If anyone knows when the M-10 kit was introduced that'd be a good indicator that, or how often Peck updated their price list/order blank enclosures.

It's trivially unimportant how old the kit is, but my curiosity has been piqued.

Cheers,
Lurk

Oh and a plastic spider, but I think that may be a joak by Blackburn Ma.

It rings bells Lurk. i have a Peck kit from the same era, 1978 to be exact- the Andreason BA4. The fuselage is built - has been for almost that length of time. I keep telling myself I have to finish it. ;D

Surprisingly it is still structurally sound - the glue joints are still solid.

All printed sheets of firm but light balsa and some very nice sticks, and of course a decent prop and accessories.

Peck kits were a grade above.
