CO2 Tank - Angle

I'm currently working on my first CO2 and I'm really new to this!

Based on a VMC Kit, I'm currently working on a Fokker D.VIII for the Open Scale CO2 cat.

Recently, I made the the base for the tray that holds the whole CO2 engine incuding the tank.

In order to fit in, I have to give a certain angle on the CO2 tank. Would it work on the angle it is currently pictured or is it too much?

I need to make a much space as possible but there are limits.

 Nice project. I would make the tank vertical if you can to help stop any liquid CO2 reaching the engine. I would also move it as far forward as you can. On some short nose WW1 models I have put the tank next to the engine inside the cowling to get the weight forward

It is measured, so that the tank is at CG (aproximatelly).

However as it is impossible to be vertical, it needs to be on a certain angle.

This is what I'm asking. If such an angle would be too much for the tank to work.

I think it will still work. I guess you could always tilt the model back so the tanks vertical when filling it to reduce the risk of liquid getting to motor if it is an issue

Actually that's the point of the removable nose that I'm making. Thus the angle on the tank. If it was a steady construction it would be easier.

I am also new at this CO2 flying, so maybe not a good advice...
The Aerographics Curtiss Jenny is my first indoor CO2 model.
The plan shows a tilted forward CO2 tank, right on the CG:



I have tried to copy that:



Build on the CG in the fuselage of the Jenny, the tank was even slightly more tilted forward:



The Jenny did perform very well at the indoor test and trim flights.
I had no problems with filling or running the Gasparin 120, it ran flawlessly every trim flight.



Again, i have very little experience with CO2 and maybe i was just lucky, but it worked very well!

What is the angle when tilted? Have you already checked who many degrees?

In principal it should not be more than 45o.

Any ideas?

P.S. so we both fly in the Opean Scale CO2 during IIFI2026?...
