Pin clamps, self made or 3D printed

Because I like overdoing things, I searched through the plastic recycling bin at home last weekend before it was due for collection looking for suitable lids to turn into pinclamps without 3D printing, using the Lurk (TM) method.  I found that the yellow lid of a 500g of Capillano honey supplied suitable plastic. 

I cut out the circles using a 7mm hole punch and then 3D printed a jig to put the hole in the middle using a pin (completely unnecessary but off-centre holes tend to bug me, so the jig was a good solution).

As much as I'd like to claim the credit for the idea, I cannot.  I think it should be HPA ^{(TM), (R), (C), Pats Pending The World in Space} 'cos that's where I found it and I can no longer remember who originally posted the idea..

Ahhh, but off-centre pins make better clamps for LEs & TEs than centred pin clamps.

It's a nice little jig though.  What's the maximum number of discs it will take or can be punched through without denting one's thumb?  I'm wondering If I can do something similar with three or four laminations of 1/16" hard sheet balsa.

I am sure that 1/16" balsa laminations would work perfectly well

At present, it will take two discs at a time.  I use a small hammer to push the pin through, resting the exit point on a cork mat, so I don't jab myself with the pin - which is something that I would do sufficiently often to make the ball of my thumb sore, if I were making a significant number of pinclamps at once (self-knowledge comes with retirement!)
