The BEAMSBOX catapult launched glider is based on John Oldenkamp's Lunchbox chuck glider from the 1970's. To simplify the glider for a relatively quick build, the wing is made from 1/32" thick balsa, has no curvature and features tip dihedral as opposed to the "V" dihedral used on the original Lunchbox glider. This glider can be flown indoors or outdoors using a hand held catapult made from a 6" loop of 1/16" wide Tan Super Sport rubber on a six inch long dowel. |
