Good morning everyone.
Yes, Aeromodeller's reconstruction works exactly as Jeremy said, and I thank him for his perfect and punctual description.

Magazines aren't uploaded indiscriminately, but, if possible, they're checked and improved first.
In the years, I've personally given HipPocket many issues of—so to speak—"my own production," for which I have the original paper copies, the original scans, and the versions processed to create the PDF files for publication. Today, before uploading them to HPA, I might give them a cleanup and update the broken hyperlinks to HipPocket.
The hyperlinks to HipPocket essentially concerned plans, especially plans I couldn't find in Outerzone and, if I couldn't find them in HipPocket either, I'd personally add to HipPocket.
As for the "not mine" issues, i.e., those I once took from HipPocket and kept as they were, I can add a description of the contents and add (in the HPA "Description") any links to plans in Outerzone or HPA.
After HipPocket crashed, I redirected my plans to Outerzone, but now, with HPA existing, I have the opportunity to choose.

I'll close with a note regarding the "Description" provided by HPA. Several years ago, I found an Excel file online that contained all the Aeromodeller Contents, which, according to its author (Colin Usher), could contain errors. And not a few, I might add.
This file was also published in HipPocket, but I never checked if it was the exact same Excel file. However, from that file I obtained the Microsoft Access Database I currently use to publish the "Descriptions" and to build the Issue PDF files.
I never fill in the "Keywords" (mandatory in HipPocket) because the 4Images search engine also uses the "Description."

I'll upload a version of the Excel file as soon as possible, authored by the great "Ratz," but I seem to recall that the uploader in HipPocket was user Dahlti (or something similar).

Helped here and there by Google Translator Italian - English  :)

AeroModeller March 1941 - the copy of this that I have is missing page 175 (so are the copies available from RC Bookcase and RC Library).  Does anyone have a copy with this page (hard copy or scanned copy)?  If so, PM me and we will work out a way to ensure that this page finds its way into the issue that is in the HPA Plan Gallery.

Many thanks

AeroModeller 1941 October - The copy I have (ditto RC Library and RC Bookcase) is missing 560, 575, and 576.

Does anyone have a copy with these pages (hard copy or scanned copy)?  If so, PM me and we will work out a way to ensure that they find their way into the issue that is in the HPA Plan Gallery.

Many thanks

You're welcome. Paolo ( ilgk48 ) is starting from the end and is moving back fast! He deserves a heap of kudos.

As you  may know, both Paolo and I try to find out whether the plans in the AeroModeller issues that we are uploading to the Plan Gallery are available from OuterZone and/or AeroFred and to put links in the description.

Please watch out  - most OuterZone links are to outerzone.co.uk but some may be to the spurious .com site.

From today the denial of service affecting AeroFred means that some issues will be uploaded without being able to add AeroFred links.

I was trying to upload the May 1945 issue today.

I got the upload form ready, entered the verification code and hit the submit button.

And then up came a new page saying that I was being verified and then I ended up back at the Forum home page.

Very odd and the reason that no more 1945 AeroModellers were uploaded today.

Now the system is working as it usually does - so everyone back to their own places! Some 1945 AeroModellers will be added today

Strange,
This morning between 9AM - 10.20AM (my local time) I uploaded February and March 1964 without problems ...

I get no notification of any errors, so I cannot help.

It seems to be working ok, as far as I can tell...

The version of the March 1948 issue that I have is missing page 216 (I think it is John Halifax's Aerodynamic Design Part 15 and is accompanied by a Nomograph (which I have) on Tailplane efficiency.  The copies available from RC Library and RC Bookcase are similarly defective.

Anyone with a complete copy who could send me a scan of page 216, please PM or email me.

Thanks in advance

Once again the community comes to our aid - thanks to Nigel_M we now have page 216 and a complete version of the March 1948 issue.

As you may have noticed, Paolo and I have made pretty good progress getting the AeroModeller collection re-loaded into the Plan Gallery - we are down to the last 100 or so issues (mainly the 1950s).

So now what should we do?

We have the best collection available online for the 1930s but it is missing 28 (about 60%) of the issues from this decade.  It would be a really good thing if we could make it a complete collection.

AS you may know I have bought about 7 issues from 1937 and 1938 personally and uploaded them.

The list of MISSING ISSUES is:

1935 - Dec
1936 - Jan/Feb,Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec
1937 - Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Oct, Nov, Dec
1938 - May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec.

How can you help?  Some possibilities are:
1.  If you have a scanned copy of the issue, either upload it to the Plan Gallery your self, or, if that is too much faff, email a copy to me and I will prepare it for upload and then upload it.
2.  If you have a hard copy that is spare, send it to me (I'm happy to pay postage to Australia plus a small price for the magazine (probably the amount of the postage) but not some of the silly prices quoted on eBay).
3.  If you have a hard copy that is unique either
     (A)  scan it and then deal with it under  point 1 ; or
     (B)  send to me and I'll scan and upload it and post the original back to you - I'm prepared to pay the postage both ways.

I'm sure some of you may have some better suggestions and I'm happy for you too contact me by PM or email or for you to put the suggestion is a reply in this thread.

If you want to contact me and you don't already have my email address, please PM me and I'll send the address to you.

I think this would be a great community exercise and be of value to all aeromodellers. It should also increase the membership of the Forum since those interested in seeing and downloading those rare issues will find us through Google and need to join HPA to get access to them.
